I am very interested in quarries. The gradations of color in the rocks mostly catches my eye and, of course, the perspective is fun to try to recreate in my color-block style.

My third quarry painting emphasized the perspective aspect of the deep hole in the ground although I still enjoy the color gradations in the rock.

My second quarry was more colorful than the first and the rock formations more rounded. I painted the undulating rock as if it were a river flowing vertically. I still like this painting and so does my daughter who has the original hanging in her living room.
